Beverly Jane Ennis' Obituary
Beverly Jane Ennis, age 75, of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, formerly Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at home with her loving family at her bedside.
Beverly was born on August 15, 1934 in Wilmington, Delaware to her Mother, the late Elma M. Jacobi and her late Father, Harvey Mears and born their only child. Bev was a graduate of Wilmington High School. She was also a homemaker for 23 years before working at Tom Livizos Realtors, then for the Prothonotary's office in downtown Wilmington until 1988. It was just after that when Beverly joined the staff at Christ Our King Church, serving as secretary over the years to the late Rev. David A. Baumgartel, Rev. Leonard Kempski and the Rev. James Nash until her retirement in 2003.
Beverly is survived by her children, son Walter C. Ennis III and wife Elizabeth of Newark, Delaware, daughter Donna L. Hadley and husband Stephen of Hockessin, Delaware, son David Scott Ennis and partner J. Scott Burdette of Rehoboth Beach, both with whom she lived and daughter Robin E. McKay and husband Richard of Hockessin, and 9 grandchildren. Also surviving is Beverly's good friend and former husband Walter C. Ennis Jr.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Compassionate Care Hospice for their loving and caring hearts.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday Feb. 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 28th & Monroe Streets, Wilmington, DE, where friends may call after 10:00 AM at the Church. Friends may also call on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Burial will follow the mass at All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
