Beverly A. Detwiler's Obituary
Beverly A. Detwiler, age 74 of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019, at Delaware Hospice Center, in Milford, DE. She was born on October 17, 1944 in Chester, PA, daughter of the late Paul and Ethel Connell.
Mrs. Detwiler graduated from Notre Dame Catholic Girls High School in Moylan, PA. She was employed by Tollins Furniture Store in Chester, PA and Bodman Chemical in Aston, PA before moving to Texas. There she dedicated several years as a clerk for Schlumberger LTD, from which she retired. Upon retirement, Mrs. Detwiler and her husband moved to the Delaware beaches and there, built their home. She loved to travel, especially to Kansas, to visit her grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye. She enjoyed boating, and with her husband, was a past member of the Indian River Yacht Club. What Mrs. Detwiler cherished most, however, was time spent with those she held most dear. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Detwiler is survived by her beloved husband, Howard Detwiler, Jr. of Millsboro, DE; her daughter Jennifer Rohaus (Craig) of Eudora, KS; her grandchildren: Jacob Rohaus and Nick Rohaus; and her best friend of 53 years, who was like a sister to her, Barbara Hand (John).
All services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Detwiler's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Drive, Milford, DE 19963, or the Alzheimer's Association, 108 North Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE 19947.
