Betty Mae Short's Obituary
Betty Mae Short, age 83 of Greenwood, Delaware passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at her home. She was born on Wednesday, November 10, 1926 in Federalsburg, Maryland, daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Annie Andrews.
Over the years she worked at the Manor House, the Cheer Home Services for over 30 years, and provided private nursing care for the elderly. She also enjoyed helping both of her sons in their respective businesses. She retired from Cheer Home Services due to health issues.when she reached the age of 80.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Earl H. Short in 1991; three brothers Wilmer Andrews, Elwood Andrews, and Theodore Andrews; one sister Ruby Perry; and a grandson Michael Wayne Short.
She is survived by two sons: Earl Wayne Short and wife Di Ann and Donnie Short and wife Debra all of Greenwood, DE; 6 grandchildren: Mark Short, Christopher Short, Ronald Short, Crystal Fensick, Matthew Short and James Pollard; 2 great-grandchildren; and a sister Pauline Mills of Federalsburg, MD.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday March 8, 2010 at 1 PM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE where friends may call after 12 noon. Burial will follow the services at Bloomery Cemetery, Federalsburg, MD.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the CHEER Center, 546 S. Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE 19947.
