Betty Jean Mastracco's Obituary
Betty Jean Mastracco, age 88 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at her residence, in Rehoboth Beach, DE. She was born on December 13, 1931 in Camp Springs, MD, daughter of the late Bertram and Elsie Biggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Mastracco, Sr., and her daughter Debra Pentz.
Betty spent most of her career as a beloved bus driver for the Prince George's County, Maryland schools. She was adored by her students, her family and the community. After Don and Betty retired, they moved to Rehoboth Beach, DE to begin their next chapter. Betty and Don became very involved with the American Legion Post 5 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7447. Betty loved and cherished the friendships that she made during their time with these organizations and their close-knit community.
Betty is known for her kind heart and welcoming spirit, but her greatest pleasure in life came from her family. Don and Betty, lovingly referred to as Pop and Grandma by the family, have two wonderful children: her son, Donald E. Mastracco Jr. and her late daughter, Debra L. Pentz. Pop and Grandma have five very successful grandchildren: Amy Ferrigno, Daniel Mastracco, Russell Pentz, Laura Raley, and Robin Mastracco. They also have five great-grandchildren: Dominic Ferrigno, William Raley, Madi Ferrigno, Eleanor Pentz, and Adelaide Pentz.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Mrs. Mastracco's memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, or call 855-DHI-GIVE.
