"Betty" Marian Elizabeth Dunn's Obituary
Marian Elizabeth Dunn “Betty”, age 90 of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, surrounded by her grandchildren at her home . She was born on January 13, 1933, in Lewes, daughter of the late George and Elma (Spicer) Bryan.
Betty worked for the Sears Company as a clerk and scheduler, in a career that spanned more than 50 dedicated years. She also gave 20 years to the Cape Henlopen School cafeterias. Betty's generous nature was shared as a volunteer for CHSP, providing church services to campers and Girl's Camp. She was an avid bowler and loved to travel the world. Among her favorite destinations was Disneyland, where she enjoyed many adventures with her sisters. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, time with her beloved family is what she cherished most in life. Betty will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, World War II Veteran, Lee Dunn, in 1989. She is survived by her son, Douglas Bryan of PA; her grandchildren and their spouses: Crystle Bryan (Shane Hill) of NC, Vanessa Edwards of PA, Josh Bryan (Magehn Newell) of PA, and Tobias Bryan of DE; her great-grandchildren: Xavier Edwards, Ash Edwards, Ryley Hill, Leivi Hill, Theon Bryan, and Spencer Bryan; her sisters, to whom she was very close; her brothers; and her innumerable cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday June 4, 2023, at 3:00 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 2:00 PM.
