Betty J. Kashner - Devoted Wife, Mother, and Loving Caretaker
Betty Jane Kashner, 92, formerly of Milton, DE for 23 years, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April15th, 2020, at Brandywine Nursing Center in Wilmington. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA November 16th, 1927, the daughter of John Ziegler and Lucille Capko.
After graduating William Penn High School in Harrisburg, PA, she met her husband Wellington (Kash). She worked for Modern Talking Picture Services, Inc. After their marriage, Betty and Wellington moved to Philadelphia and then to the suburbs, Sharon Hill, PA where they resided for over 40 years. Betty worked at American Motors Rambler Division and was an excellent homemaker for many years.
Betty loved the beach and swimming. She loved singing and listening to music. She especially loved dancing whether it was the jig, jive, or swing dancing to the Big Bands at Hershey Park, PA. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, den mother to cub/boy scouts and girl scouts. She lit up a room with her beautiful smile and bright blue eyes. She was very kind, sweet, and a joy to be around. She will always be loved and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wellington (Kash) and grandson Kyle R. Kashner.
She is survived by her five children: Candis Kashner of Wyndmoor, PA., Craig Kashner of Newtown Square, PA., William Kashner of New Castle, DE, Keith Kashner of Fort Myers, FL, and Kimberly Kashner of Milton, DE; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Mrs. Kashner’s services are private. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
