"Betts" Diffenderfer's Obituary
Elisabeth "Betts" W. Diffenderfer, 95,of Rehoboth Beach, DE died Monday, March 27, 2006 at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes, DE. She was born July 11, 1910, in Chester, PA daughter of the late William Harry Hazzard White and Mary Treat Leathers White.
Mrs. Diffenderfer was a graduate of Tower Hill High School and Goldey College. She also attended the University of Delaware. She had been very active with the Women's Committee at Wilmington Symphony Orchestra and the Winterthur Museum. For 24 years she served as a Spring Tours Docent at the Museum and in 1966 she served as a Junior Board Member for Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, DE, shortly before the demise of the hospital. She had taken an interest in supporting the Church Farm School and Tower Hill School, and was a member and supporter of St. Mary's Anglican Church, Wilmington.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband J. Bruce Diffenderfer in (1987). She is survived by her cousins, Thomas P. Robinson and his wife Alice of Rehoboth Beach, DE and Robert Robinson and his wife Battle of Georgetown, DE.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2 PM at St. George's Episcopal Church, Rt 23, near Angola, DE with the Reverend Max Wolf officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining All Saints Cemetery.
