Bettie Short's Obituary
Bettie R. Short, age 92, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, on Tuesday, April 21, 1925 daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle (Austin) Short.
Miss Short retired to Bridgeville after 30 years of service as a civil servant for the Department of the Navy in Washington, DC. She served in the Ladies Auxiliary for the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department for many years and she frequently attended the Union United Methodist Church.
Miss Short is survived by: Shirley Porter, Keith Revelle and family of Ellendale, DE; Robert and Jean Short and family of Bridgeville, DE; Bonnie and Tom Smith of Bridgeville, DE; Jeanette Smith of Reading, PA; Joseph Farley of Reading, PA; Elizabeth Volk of Reading, PA; and Mary and Bill Robb of FL; and special friend & caregiver Donna Shindle.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE 19933, where friends may visit beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow services at the Bridgeville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Miss Short's name to Vitas Hospice, 1016 N. Walnut Street, Milford, DE 19963.
