Bernardine Monica Ritgert's Obituary
Bernardine M. Ritgert, 91, of Selbyville, DE, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born in Baltimore, MD, on May 6, 1931, to the late Joseph Jelski and Anna Jelski (nee Wancowicz).
She was married for 50 years to the late Albert J. Ritgert of Baltimore, MD. Bernardine volunteered over many years in Baltimore for St. Thomas More Parish, the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland, and the Polish Heritage Association of Maryland. She retired from the Baltimore County Department of Health in 1996 and relocated to Delaware in 2014.
She is survived by her daughters: Barbara and Karen, both of Dagsboro, DE; her son Steven; her grandsons: Alex and Jeremy, and Jeremy’s wife Francesca, all of Baltimore, MD; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held on a future date at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens in Baltimore, MD.
