Bernard S Myers Sr.'s Obituary
Bernard S. Myers Sr., 82 of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Saturday, January 6, 2024. He was born on March 7, 1941, in Columbia, PA, son of the late Dr. John Charles Myers and Mary Bernice Myers.
After graduating from Columbia High School in 1959, Bern attended college at Penn State University and proudly earned an associate degree. He married his love, Mildred "Millie" (Fischer) Myers and raised four boys in Newark, DE.
Bern decided to take an early retirement and moved to Lewes, DE so he could enjoy some of his many passions such as traveling and spending time with his loving grandchildren. He also had many hobbies. He loved spending time doing yardwork, while also fishing, boating, skiing, playing tennis and golfing with friends. Above all, the time spent with the ones he held dear was what he cherished most.
In addition to his parents, Bern was predeceased by his brothers, Chuck and Joe, his sister Sue, and his granddaughter Ashley.
He is survived by his sons: Stephen Sr. (Cindy) of Wyoming, DE, Bernie Jr. (Lisa) of Middletown, DE, John (Teresa) of Middletown, DE, and David (Tracy) of Holly Springs, NC; his ten grandchildren (Stephen Jr, Kasey, Kristen, Katie, Kyle, Laura, Jacob, Maggie, Jenna and Abby) and eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request a donation in Bern's name to the Lewes Fire Company, 347 Savannah Rd, Lewes, DE 19958
