Bernard George Kaye's Obituary
Bernard George Kaye, age 76, of Millsboro, DE passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. He was born Saturday, March 9, 1940 in London, England, son of the late Frederick William and Ellen Alice (Runnacles) Kaye.
Mr. Kaye attended Goldbeaters High School and then Hendon Technical College, both in London. After college he traveled the world with the British Army Parachute Regiment from 1958 to 1967. In England, he was a supervisor at a book making company and later at a telephone cable company. He also trained, groomed and transported horses and carriages to film locations for his niece’s horse farm in Devon, England. Once in the United States, Mr. Kaye worked at Churchill Downs as a guard, at a funeral home and as a home health caregiver.
Mr. Kaye enjoyed singing, especially Elvis tunes. In his spare time he loved to go golfing and watching British Premiere Football League (soccer).
Mr. Kaye is survived by his loving wife, Catherine; his daughter, Catherine Wood and her husband, Robert of Machester, England; his step-children: Thomas James Cannaliato, Jeanette Lea Cannaliato and Catherine Theresa Kelly; and his nine grandchildren all of MD; and his sister-in-law, Joyce Kaye and his niece, Deborah Kaye of Devon, England. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Michael Cannaliato of Bel Air, MD.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may visit beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private.
