Bernadette Marie Moyer's Obituary
Bernadette Marie Moyer (1947-2024)
Bernadette (Bern) Marie Moyer, 77, of Bridgeville, DE died on April 6th at the Delaware Hospice Center. Bern passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, after courageously succumbing to lung cancer. The family would like to thank the nurses at Delaware Hospice Home Care for their compassionate care of Bernadette since December, especially Tracy R.
Bernadette was born in Wilmington, DE in 1947 to her parents, George and Dorothy Pedrick. The family later settled in Sussex County. Bern graduated from James H. Groves Adult High School and later in life, she studied nursing at Del Tech, just shy of completing the program. Bernadette married Robert (Bob) Moyer in 1978. Bern and Bob enjoyed many road trips with friends on their motorcycles. Bern was also a proud former member of the DE Chapter of the Patriot Guard Riders. She also enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader for her son, Joey, as well as being actively involved in his childhood sports and other recreational activities. Family gatherings were a favorite pastime of Bern’s. After Bob died in 2011, her dogs, Scamp and Cody helped to comfort her and move forward. Scamp was with her until the end, even visiting her at the hospice center mere hours before her death.
