BENJAMIN B. WHEATLEY, JR.
WAYNESBORO, VA…
Benjamin Brooks Wheatley, Jr., 65, loving husband of Linda Wheatley of 324 Miller Road, Waynesboro, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007, in the Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville, VA.
He was born February 6, 1942 in Milford, DE, a son of Benjamin Brooks and Dorothy Ruth (Davis) Wheatley.
Mr. Wheatley was a veteran of the U.S. A. F. Prior to retirement, he was employed by E. I. DuPont as a Supervisor for 41 years. He was an active member of Ruritan National Organization, the Virginia Thoroughbred Association, the U. S. Trotting Association, and he was an avid horseman.
In addition to his wife, family members include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Benjamin Brooks Wheatley, III, Scott Davis Wheatley, and Trey and Donna Hardesty; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Jill and Terrance Williams and Donna and Dale Sheets; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Jane C. and Jerome Love of Seaford, DE, Caroline W. and Bob Clayville of Bridgeville, DE, Cathie Jo and Cecil Jones of Laurel, DE, and Dorothy E. Wheatley of Bridgeville, DE; grandchildren, Jessica Wheatley, Ian Wheatley Bryant, Terrance Williams, Jr., Colin Williams, Kari Williams, Jayson Williams, Hunter Hardesty, Cody Sheets, and Cole Sheets; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 10, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Union United Methodist Church, Market Street, Bridgeville, DE with Pastor Dale Brown officiating.
Interment will be held on Tuesday November 13, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wheatley Grandchildren Educational Scholarship Fund, c/o DuPont Community Credit Union, 140 Lucy Lane, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
