Beatriz Medina Mayoral's Obituary
Beatriz Medina Mayoral, age 76, of Milford, DE passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in Laurel, MD. She was born on March 28, 1939 in Bogota, Colombia, daughter of the late Simon and Bertha Helena (Lourido) Medina.
Mrs. Mayoral immigrated to the United States in January 1958 and became a United States citizen with her husband Angelo Mayoral in 1975. For over 20 years, she enjoyed working as an Administrative Assistant at the Library of Congress. In 2006, Mrs. Mayoral with her husband moved to the Milford area from Landover Hills, MD. Here she became an active member of the Milford Senior Center, the 2nd Street Players and a parishioner of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. Mrs. Mayoral was very involved in acting both on stage and on screen and was an active member of the Screen Actors Guild (AFTRA/SAG).
Throughout her life, Mrs. Mayoral was a family minded individual who loved her family unconditionally especially her grandchildren who were the apples of her eyes.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mayoral was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo Mayoral, on December 30, 2014. She is survived by her four children: John and Michael Mayoral, Vicky Mayoral and Beatrice Sullivan; a brother, Fernando Medina of Colombia; eight grandchildren: Patrick Riordon, Jordan Mayoral, Taylor Mayoral, Brooke Mayoral, Brenden Mayoral, Nathan Mayoral, Christopher Mayoral and Olivia Mayoral-Figueroa; one great-grandson, Brayden Ridell and another great-grandson on the way.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 18, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford, DE, 19963, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM.
Friends may also call on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958. Burial will follow the services at the Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, 6486 Bay Road, Frederica, DE 19946.
Flowers are welcomed or memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Mayoral's memory to Milford Senior Center, 111 Park Avenue, Milford, DE 19963.
