Beatrice Bryant Kucera's Obituary
Beatrice (Bryant) Kucera, age 89, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at her daughter's residence in Milton, DE where she has resided for the past 18 months. Mrs. Kucera was born March 17, 1919 in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late Earl Nelson and Blanche Retta (Dunfee) Bryant.
Mrs. Kucera was raised with her siblings on the family farm known as Echo Valley Farm where on a clear day you could see three States. After her marriage, she and her late husband raised their children on a portion of the family farm and their homestead was known as Scenic Knob. For many years Mrs. Kucera was employed as a personal shopper in the ladies department of Stone & Thomas Department Store. She was a life member of the Short Creek United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank Joseph Kucera (1963) and by her four brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Retta Rose Frampton and her husband Jerry of Milton, DE; four sons, Fanklin Keyser Kucera and his wife Lynda of Mertzon, TX, Russell Bryant Kucera and his wife Krista of Wheeling, Mark Harmon Kucera of Wheeling, and Carl Joseph Kucera and his wife Sharon of Wheeling; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008, 11:00 AM, at Short Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Linger officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Kepner Funeral Homes.
