Beatrice G. Kiefer's Obituary
Beatrice G. Kiefer, age 73, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 1, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born December 2, 1937 in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Harry L. and Beatrice G. (Dalton) Hunkele.
Mrs. Kiefer graduated from Kearny High School, Kearny, NJ in 1958. Shortly after graduation she married the love of her life, Richard D. Kiefer, they married in 1959.Mrs. Kiefer at age 47 returned to school to pursue her lifelong dream of being a nurse; she earned her LPN from East Brunswick Vo-Tech, East Brunswick, NJ. In 1995, Mrs. Kiefer and her husband moved to Bridgeville where she was an active member of the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Bridgeville Kiwanis Club, and Union United Methodist Church. Mrs. Kiefer enjoyed bowling, girl scouts, mahjong, James Taylor music, and gardening. She was best known for her sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard D. Kiefer; her son: Richard and wife Dawn Kiefer of FL; two daughters: Susan Gimbel and husband Bob, and Diane Morrow and husband Nick all from NJ; two granddaughters, Amy and Kimberly; three great-grandchildren: Phoenix, Coraline, and Holden Coelho all of New Jersey; brother Thomas Hunkele and wife Chris of Georgia, and beloved dog and companion Daisey May.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday April 9, 2011, 11:00 AM. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Bridgeville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice in Mrs. Kiefer’s name.
