Barry will always be in our hearts. Our cherished memories go back to the 50s & 60s. I still enjoy the pottery bowl he gave me in 1962! We love you all.

Dear Bonne & family,
I’m deeply saddened by the passing of Barry. I met Barry through Bonne’s brother Steve when we were at BJC and at 19 years old, Barry started doing my hair on Belle Avenue. Bonne and I were pregnant at the time. From there I followed Barry to Edward Astre and from there to the Embassy Beauty Salon , the Hilton and ultimately About Faces. Every week, I met with my beautician my psychiatrist and my very dear friend. Barry will be sorely missed. I have only
Happy memories,

Barry and my late mother (his youngest aunt; she was just a toddler when he was born) were actually dance partners about 65 years ago. They were part of the 1950s dance-class craze, and they frequented various studios to master the all-important cha-cha steps, as well as the intricacies of other popular dances of the era. In the late 1970s, when I learned about this bit of family lore, I was a teenager who found it absolutely impossible to imagine my middle-aged mother as a former dance studio denizen. But imaging Barry in a dance studio (or any place/situation that demanded boundless, youthful energy) was not a problem. Not at all! Barry was all about trying new things. His never-ending enthusiasm and amazing zest for life were absolutely infectious. Lightness and laughter followed him wherever he went -- always. He was a beautiful person and a great role model for living a full and happy life. He will be missed by many.
My heartfelt condolences. May his memory always be a blessing.
I was just a friend of Jody's, but Barry always treated me like a member of the family. His love and support, his kindness, his gentleness, all hold a place in my heart. May his memory always be a blessing to those who knew and loved him.
Barry was a great volunteer at Beebe. I enjoyed working with him and Bonnie.
He will be missed.
So very sorry to hear this sad news. Although we lost touch over the past 16 years the wonderful memories of our friendship still remain. He was my hairdresser first when I was in my early 20’s for at least 25 years and then we became such close friends. He and Bonne were friends/parents. Because I had no family in Maryland I spent numerous holidays at their table. Barry had to approve all of my dates when I was dating and was never at a loss for words if he did or did not like the guy. Barry and Bonne became “associate members” to our Thursday Night Follies when I lived in an apartment in Mt. Washington. Everyone of my friends became their friends. I was an extra aunt to Stacey and Jody who were the apple of his eye. So many memories flooding back. My deepest sympathies to the whole family. I know Bernie will be waiting for him in heaven.
RIP Barry.
