Barbara F. Millman's Obituary
Barbara Fay Mincy Millman, age 84, was born June 9, 1938, in Greeneville, Tennessee. Her family moved to Delaware when she was nine years old. The Lord took her home Sunday, February 5, 2023, after five years in residence at the Moorings at Lewes.
Barbara graduated from Lewes High School in 1956. She graduated in June and married the love of her life Eddie Millman on July 28, 1956. They were blessed with three children: Terri Lyn, Linda Jane, and Steven Edward.
Barbara was a bookkeeper for Edward R. Millman Masonry and for First Baptist Church of Lewes. She was a faithful and active church member and loved singing in the choir. She liked to crochet, play the piano, and take care of her flowers around her home. She enjoyed babysitting for friends and grandchildren, loved traveling with her husband and friends, and cherished visiting with friends and family in her home, on her back porch, and around her swimming pool.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, William R. Mincy Sr. and Fay Mincy, her brother, Lloyd T. Mincy, and her husband of 56 years, Edward R. Millman. She is survived by her three children, Terri Richards (Jim) of North Charleston, SC, Linda Shropshire of Rutland, Vermont, and Steve Millman (Nancy) of Milton, Delaware. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Emily Munn (Mike) of Loris, SC, Katie Perry (Jeremy) of Apex, NC, Tyler Hall (Olivia) of Summerville, SC, Megan Lasiter (Peyton) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Matthew Millman (Samantha) of Milton, Delaware, Jennifer Shropshire of Greenwood, Massachusetts, and Bryan Shropshire of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She has four great-grandchildren, Royce Ertsey and Roman Perry of Apex, NC, Tanner Millman of Milton, Delaware, and Collin Hall of Summerville, SC. She is survived by two brothers, William R. Mincy Jr. (Sylvia) of Dover, Delaware, and Dr. John C. Mincy (Gini) of Greenville, SC., and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 13, at First Baptist Church of Lewes, 1001 Kings Highway, Lewes, Delaware with arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, Delaware. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at White’s Chapel Cemetery, Milton, Delaware.
