Barbara B. Dennis' Obituary
Barbara B. Dennis, age 68 of Milton, DE passed away suddenly on Tuesday August 9, 2016. She was born in Lewes, DE daughter of the late John L. & Ellen Moore Brown. She attended Rehoboth High School, graduating in 1966. Over the years Mrs. Dennis worked for the Cape Henlopen School District as a teacher’s aide specializing in elementary education. She also was a preschool teacher at various locations in Delaware, Virginia, & New York. Barbara also worked as a Manager at Tanger Outlets, before retiring. She was a devoted wife and and mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her daughter was her best friend. She enjoyed meeting people, listening to music, shopping, and going to the slots with her husband. Barbara was very creative, working with arts & crafts, and loved to attend local craft shows. Attending the Delaware State Fair each year was a a long standing family tradition. She loved traveling with her family, especially to Disney World.
In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her Uncle Clarence W. Joseph.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Woodrow P. Dennis “Woody”; her daughter Dawn E. Crouch; her mother-in-law, Virginia M. Dennis of Lewes, DE; two brothers-in-law, Monroe Dillinger of Lewes and James L. Dennis “JL” of Delaware City, DE, sister-in-law Debra L. Lawler (John) of Lorton, VA.; four aunts, Laura M. Hopkins (John) of Harbeson, DE, Susan E. Joseph of Bear, DE, Doris Townsend of Milford, and Betty Lou Brown of Houston, DE; several nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at 10:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. where friends may visit beginning at 9 AM.
Friends may also visit Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the services at the Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
