Barbara "Bobbie" B. Sampson's Obituary
Barbara "Bobbie" B. Sampson, age 74, of Lewes, DE, formerly of Brookeville, MD, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 15, 1941 in Washington, DC, daughter of the late Warren and Elizabeth (Speer) Bouvé.
Mrs. Sampson was a member of Sweet Adelines International in Montgomery County, MD and an active member of Seaside Church in Lewes, DE. She was a licensed real estate agent in Maryland and later worked as Activities Director at Easter Seals. Her dedication to assisting the elderly was extraordinary and she often brought personal items from home to encourage and comfort patients with dementia.
Mrs. Sampson cherished all the times spent with her family, especially with her busy grandchildren. Mrs. Sampson was an avid gardener, who also loved sewing, baking, crafts and singing. She generously took care of everyone around her including her parents and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sampson was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Hugh B. Sampson, Jr. She is survived by her son, William Todd Sampson and his wife Kendra of Jefferson, MD; two daughters: Tracey Kaul and her husband Dave of Union Bridge, MD, Tara Walker and her fiancé' Mark Berkheiser of Magnolia, DE; six grandchildren: Dustin, Alex, Jack, Holly, Ryan and Lindsay; three brothers: Lincoln Bouvé of Winchester, VA, Thomas Bouvé and his wife Bea Young of Annapolis, MD; David Bouvé and his wife Janet of Brookeville, MD; her dear friend Ginger Roark of Milford, DE and her feisty Pomeranian companion, Max.
A Celebration of Mrs. Sampson's Life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at 3:00 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may visit beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015, at 1:00 PM, at the National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
