Barbara P. Bromfield's Obituary
Barbara Powell Bromfield, Talbot County, MD resident since 1947, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Cadbury At Lewes, DE. She had moved to Delaware in August 2009 to be near her niece and namesake Barbara Bromfield Kiker.
Ms. Bromfield was born March 18, 1920 in Garden City, Long Island, NY, daughter of the late Edward T. and May (Powell) Bromfield. A graduate of the Cathedral School of St. Mary in Garden City, where her early years were spent, she later accompanied her family to Maryland following World War II. In Easton, she was a member of Christ Church and volunteered in the Easton Hospital auxiliary and its Commission shop.
In addition to her niece, Ms. Kiker of Rehoboth Beach, DE, she is survived by a nephew, Edward T. Bromfield, III, Signal Mt., TN, a niece, Iden B. Bromfield, Reno, NV., sister-in-law, Elaine Bromfield of Front Royal, VA., great niece, Elizabeth Elder, of Lewes. She also leaves three great-nephews; Drew Bromfield of Seattle , WA, Joseph Bromfield, currently studying in London and Stephen Bromfield of Signal Mt., TN.,and one cousin, Patricia Bromfield of Monroe Twp., NJ.
Donations may be made to the Humane Society of Talbot County at Talbot Humane, P.O. Box 1143, Easton, MD 21601.
