I became associated with Barb (and Pat) after I relocated to Rehoboth Beach in 2010. Within a few months of visiting the Epworth UMC, I joined and became a member of their wonderful Chancel Choir of which Barb and Pat were long time members some years before I became part of it. Singing together; getting together at their home some holidays when the choir had in-house Christmas parties, and sharing lunch out with them and others from the Choir after church was a delight. Pat was up front and direct in conversations and Barb was very quiet and subdued. After Pat passed on, I learned more about Barb when she was residing at the Truitt Homestead here in R.B. - a lovely facility for Assisted or Independent living. Her friends Cathy and Susan looked after her when left alone to meet her needs. They got her into Truitt after the house was sold - and arranged for a lovely Birthday Party luncheon in her honor - inviting many of her church friends and neighbors. It was a delightful event, and she was so thrilled. It was then, that her background was revealed. She was a very smart woman that had many credentials with a long list of accomplishments. I took over the Card Ministry for the Choir when Pat retired from that duty - and have had the pleasure to keep in touch with Barb via greetings from her choir friends until her health worsened. All I can say, it was a pleasure to know and share time within 13 years with Barb and Pat. Thankful that Barb has finally reunited with her to begin a 'new' eternal life together. Rest in peace friend.
