Obituary
August Bernard "Gus" Fipp, 88 passed away suddenly on December 7, 2005. The loving and devoted husband of Dorothy "Dot" Reynolds Fipp, he was born in Defiance, Ohio to August B. and Luverne Wortman Fipp.
He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in l941 with a doctorate in Law and Letters. August then entered the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) as a special agent for 37 years in South Dakota, San Francisco(where he met and married Dot), Cinncinatti, and primarily, at Headquarters in Washington, DC where he was Chief of the Special Investigations Unit. He held the honor of having been appointed to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court. After retiring from the FBI, he served on several congressional committees as a special investigator. Following his distinguished government service, he was affiliated with INTERTEL for 10 years. He was also appointed and served as a member of the Delaware State Legislative Committee for the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). August and his wife lived and raised their family in Silver Spring, Maryland. Upon his final retirement, he and his wife relocated to the Rehoboth Beach, Delaware area and they traveled world-wide.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Reynolds Fipp and two devoted children: his son, Warren "Skip" and wife (Janice) Fipp of Northfield, NJ and his daughter, Susan and husband (Mark) Adams of Egg Harbor Township,NJ and five adoring grandchildren; Christopher and Jennifer Fipp and Kevin, Bryan and Shannon Adams.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 10, 2005 at 1:00 PM at St. Georges Episcopal Church, Rt. 23 near Angola, DE. where friends may call after 12:30PM. Burial will be in All Saints Episcopal Cemetery, next door. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Delaware Humane Society, 701 A Street Wilmington, DE 19713
