Dearest Kirsten and Katherine,
I was a sixth grade student of your mother's, and at 68 can still say that she had a profound effect on my life. I have googled her several times in the past months, but never reached out to her. For some reason I decided to find her tonight, only to find that her memorial service is tomorrow. I wish I could have told her how much she meant to me, but the best I can do is let you know what an influence she was to me. I , too , became a teacher, perhaps because I admired her so.
