Audrey Jeanne Bell's Obituary
Audrey Jeanne Bell, age 80 of Georgetown, DE passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE. She was born on December 29, 1933 in Fulton County, PA, daughter of the late Clyde and Ruth (DeShong) Schetrompf.
Mrs. Bell was quite the social butterfly and an outgoing individual who enjoyed intellectual conversations related to politics, current events and sometimes the latest Hollywood gossip. She also kept up with the daily goings-on in her community and always had an interesting story to share. Above all, she enjoyed entertaining when her family came to visit. Their visits usually included an outing to the beach followed by dinner at one of the local restaurants.
During her spare time, Mrs. Bell could be found immersed in a fascinating novel, working in her yard or taking a ride on the Cape May-Lewes ferry. She was also a huge dog lover, which led her to breeding Miniature Schnauzer's. Not only did she breed Miniature Schnauzer's, she was also an Owner-Handler, who competed in numerous dog shows with her champions.
Mrs. Bell was a loving and devoted wife, aunt and a dear friend by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Bell in November of 1989; her brother, Alden Schetrompf; her sister, Helen Leach; and her niece, Ruthann Bressi. She is survived by her nieces and nephews who Mrs. Bell considered like children: Pricilla Barkman and her husband Roger, James W. "Billy" Montgomery, Samuel Schetrompf and his wife Karen, Mary Ruth Johnson and her husband Paul all of PA, John Schetrompf of TN and Audrey Jeanne Saunders of Wilmington, DE; numerous grand nieces and nephews; and numerous great-grand nieces and nephews.
