Astrid Jimenez's Obituary
Astrid Jimenez, age 83 of Lewes, DE passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Wilmington Hospital, Christiana Care Health Services, in Wilmington, DE. She was born on May 17, 1940, in Medellin, Colombia, daughter of the late Gilberto and Margarita (Piedrahita) Jimenez.
After obtaining a degree in Colombia, she worked as a teacher before moving to the United States. For many years, she worked as a production supervisor for a glass printing and decorations company. Family was most important to her, and she created a family atmosphere in her workplace. Astrid was hard-working and took great pride in what she did. With family, she enjoyed hosting gatherings with her two brothers and sister’s families. She also took pleasure in knitting, quilting, gardening, and loved thrifting at shops and yard sales. Astrid was always ready to have fun and enjoyed traveling as often as she could. She was nothing less than a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Astrid was loved by so many and will be forever missed.
She is survived by her brothers: Jaime (Esther), Guillermo, and Fernando (Kathleen) Jimenez; her sisters: Raquel Jimenez and Martha Vega; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.
