Ashley W. King's Obituary
Ashley Wagamon King, of Lewes, Delaware, passed away surrounded by love and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. To know Ashley was to know someone with a compassionate heart, a warm smile, and a generous spirit. Whether offering encouragement, sharing a laugh, or simply listening, she made people feel seen, valued, and truly cared for.
Ashley was a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School and the University of Delaware, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design. Ashley had a natural eye for beauty and a deep appreciation for the artistry of fashion design. She approached style as more than clothing, it was a form of expression, a way to celebrate individuality, and a means of marking the moments that are most meaningful in life. She grew a successful career in women’s retail, founding and managing Piccolino, a fashionable boutique that became a favorite among young shoppers.
Being a loving godmother to nine children inspired Ashley to open her most recent business, Fairy Godmother. Ashley created much more than a place to shop; she built a vibrant community. It is a space where families gather, friendships are formed, and generations of children are celebrated. She took great joy in helping shoppers find the perfect outfit for life’s most meaningful moments and cherished the lasting relationships she formed with countless families over the years.
Ashley was a devoted daughter, sister, and wife who valued family above all else. She formed deep and enduring connections throughout her life, like a quiet light that brought comfort to those around her, always offering a listening ear, a kind spirit, and a genuine smile. Her warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on friends, neighbors, and the entire community.
Ashley is survived by her loving husband, Jason King; her devoted mother, Deanna Wagamon (Fred Twardowski); her father, James Wagamon; and her cherished grandmother, Antoinette Bernardon. She is also survived by her brother, Jay Wagamon; her sisters, Shipley Wagamon, Hastings Wagamon, Mackenzie Wagamon, Taylor England, Mallory Lexa, and Kelsey Honick; her mother-in-law, Cynthia Thoroughgood; and her brother-in-law, Jamie King. She will be reunited with her cherished companions Lucy, Rook, and Bonkers and is survived by Lola, who both brought her great joy, as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
The many lives Ashley touched will forever carry the quiet glow of her light. Though our hearts are tender with loss, we find solace in knowing her kindness, love, and gentle spirit will continue to ripple through all who were blessed to know her.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958. Interment will be private. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
