I just found out that my dear and loving friend passed away. I worked with Arun at Fairfax County and was a hard working engineer who was loved by all he came in contact with. Arun called me ‘Big D’ and I have so many fond memories of him. Arun was so sweet, caring and the best co-worker there could ever be, but he wasn’t just a co-worker he was a true friend, like family to me and my sister Denise, he was our work brother. He was so thoughtful to all the ladies in the office and would always give valentines to everyone, even after he had retired he would either come visit the office and deliver them personally or mail them to the office, and never forgetting to send cards or emails for Thanksgiving and Christmas too. He was a giving man: of his time and attention, love, appreciation, encouragement and smiles. His heart was so big and open, never had a bad moment, he was always a ray of sunshine. I remember him bringing his wife in the office, whom he lovingly referred to as ‘Momma Gan’ and also his lovely children whom he loved greatly and was so proud of and would keep us informed of their many accomplishments, especially when he became a proud grandfather. I cannot forget his stories of his fur-baby, Buddy, as he would also share stories of his little buddy as well. May my dear beloved friend rest in peace, knowing that he left a positive mark on society and will be forevermore missed.
