Arthur M. Savard's Obituary
Arthur "Art" M. Savard, age 73, of Bridgeville, DE passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, MD. He was born in Lowell, MA on July 15, 1938, son of the late Leo and Mary (Pelchat) Savard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sheryl in 2002; his son Dennis J. Reardon in 1979; his infant daughter Marie Savard; his brother: Leo Savard, Jr.; and a sister Theresa Schagaon.
Mr. Savard enjoyed a 20 year career in cryptology with the U.S. Air Force retiring in 1977. He lived in Severn, MD, Florida briefly and settled in Bridgeville in 1988. He had a knack for fixing electronics so he opened Art's TV in Severn and Sussex VCR Clinic in Bridgeville; he kept himself current and was very good with computers. More recently, his interests included antiques and thus Art's Antique Alley came into being and continues today.
Mr. Savard was a member of the Seaford American Legion and APA Pool Association. He was a renaissance man of sorts who could shoot pool with the best of them, tell a great long tale, enjoyed a good round of golf, woodworking, playing the organ and cooking. He was an animal lover who cared for many pets over his lifetime. He was a loving husband, a great Dad, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be remembered by so many.
Mr. Savard is survived by two sons: Donald E. Reardon and his wife Moraima of Bridgeville and Daniel F. Reardon of Los Angeles, CA; a daughter, Angela M. Reardon and her fiance' Roger E. Murray of Seaford, DE; two sisters: Jeanne Connolly and her husband Paul of Lowell, MA and Annette Fatheree of Sacramento, CA; two grandchildren: Christopher J. Reardon and his wife Isabelle of Jacksonville, NC and Grace M. Reardon of Bridgeville; and a great-granddaughter, Dalila R. Reardon of North Carolina.
The Savard Family invites you to join them in celebrating Art's life on Monday, July 2, 2012, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Art's name to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
