Arthur "Bud" Moretz's Obituary
Arthur "Bud" Moretz, age 81, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away Monday, January 14, 2008, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Mr. Moretz was born in Philadelphia. PA, son of the late Adolphus Arthur and Mabel (Wentzel) Moretz. Prior to retiring to Delaware in 1984, he and his family had resided in the Frankford section of Philadelphia from 1953 to 1984. Mr. Moretz retired after 35 years service with Bell of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Moretz had been a member of the Rehoboth United Methodist Church of Philadelphia. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a life member of the American Legion Post 7447, Rehoboth Beach, DE. He had worked for Penn Del Lock Company in Rehoboth Beach for a few years after moving to Delaware, and had served as a volunteer at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, DE. Mr. Moretz was a U.S. Naval Veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moretz was predeceased by his wife Dorris (Van Coppenolle) Moretz, and a sister Janet Lukens.
He is survived by a son, Preston M. Moretz & his wife Mary of Philadelphia, PA, and three sisters: Betty Shields of Philadelphia, PA, Ruth Arms of Langhorne, PA, and Jean Hollenbach of Milton, DE.
A Memorial Service will be held at Fox Chase United Methodist Church, Loney and Fillmore Streets, Philadelphia, PA at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 26, 2008 with Rev. Stanley Krall officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions are suggested to Seaside Church, P.O. Box 443, Lewes, DE 19958.
