Art was my oldest friend. We went to the same elementary school, high school and college. He got me interested in listening to classical music and in buying high fidelity audio equipment. He got Stanley Insler, a virtuoso pianist among other accomplishments, to visit the apartment where I lived with my parents and to play the modest spinet piano in our living room. Stanley made that piano sound like a concert grand. I also knew Art's wife, Elaine, and visited them when they lived in Riverdale with their baby daughter Lisa. I once played four wall handball with Art at the 92nd Street YMHA. He beat me 21-0. I was shocked and saddened to find out that he and Eli had both died in the same year.
