Arthur Halverson Keys' Obituary
Arthur Halverson Keys, of Millsboro, DE died Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at his residence. He was born January 24, 1925 in Long Beach, CA to the late Ivan Claude Keys, Sr. and the late Julia (Splittstoesser) Keys.
Mr. Keys graduated from the New London Maritime Academy, New London, CT in 1945. He enjoyed a 46 year career with the U.S. Merchant Marines. He served on many convoys during WWII and was the Chief Engineer for 33 years with Farrel Lines, U.S. Lines. He also worked for the "City of Hope," the hospital ship, for 14 months on the West Africa Coast.
He is survived by his wife, Delpha (Bostock) Keys, Ed.D.; one daughter, Susan A. Keys, Ph.D. of Springfield, MA, and one brother, Ivan C. Keys of Fall River Mills, CA.
