Anthony D. Perrello's Obituary
Anthony D. Perrello , age 79, of Milton, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, DE. He was born in the Bronx, NY, on Friday, January 20, 1933, son of the late Demetreo and Ida (Feno) Perrello.
A resident of Milton for the past 19 years, Mr. Perrello previously resided in Queens/ Flushing, NY where he retired from the Consolidated Edison Power Company as a Systems Analyst and Manager after 42 years. He was always involved with his church and was the Deacon and Treasurer of the First Baptist Church of Flushing, NY. He was also a past active member of the Kiwanis Club and Treasurer of their Foundation.
After moving to DE, he became a member of the New Covenant Presbyterian Church and earned the title "Elder Emeritus". He also lead a special bible study group every Monday in his community of Overbrook Shores. He was always interested in computers and formed a computer club in his community called "The Grumpy Old Men's Computer Club" and as a member of the Homeowners Association, he rewrote their bi-laws. In his younger years, he loved to play Tennis and Racquetball. He also loved to play Bridge and was very good at it.
Mr. Perrello was a good friend and neighbor and will be sorely missed by his family, his church "family" and all that knew him.
Mr. Perrello is survived by his wife of 28 years, Elvira I. (Pudano) Perrello; one son, Anthony D. Perrello and his wife Ming of Piscataway, NJ; one daughter, Patricia Werst and her husband Kevin of Mason, OH; seven grandchildren: Micah and Kristen Perrello, Jocelyn, Sara, Matthew, Lauren and Jonathan Werst; one sister, Grace Magneri of Bronx, NY; one sister-in-law, Theresa Barkovich of Spring Hill, FL, ; four nephews; four nieces and their families.
A Celebration of Mr. Perrello's Life will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3072 Savannah East Drive, Lewes, DE 19958. Friends may call at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Additional viewing will be held at the Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Interment with full Military Honors will follow the Celebration of Life on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
