Anthony Michael Parillo Sr.'s Obituary
Anthony Michael Parillo Sr. (Tony) was 89 and resided in Seaford, Delaware. He ended his journey at home on Sunday Oct 9th, 2022, with his family by his side. Tony was born on February 11th, 1933, in New Haven Connecticut. The son of Pasquale and Frances Parillo.
He attended Lovell elementary School and completed his high school education and went on to attend Connecticut School of Electronics. He continued taking additional courses at New Haven College. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1952 and served honorably as an aviation electrician's mate during the Korean war. He was stationed at Hickam Naval Air Force base Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. His final duty station was at NAAS Barin Field Foley, Alabama where he was honorably discharged on Dec. 7th, 1956. He continued to serve in the naval reserve until 1960.
Tony was married to his bride Evelyn of 66 years on July 21st, 1956, in Lucedale, Mississippi.
Tony’s civilian career included numerous startup companies that he personally managed and helped to become financially successful. His expertise in electrical engineering and quality control made him a valuable asset to the many companies that he assisted. He retired in 1993.
Tony was a life member of the VFW and was currently with post #4961. He was also a member of the Seaford, DE. American Legion Post #6, and the Elks for 51 years. Tony was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Laura Atwood, as well as his brothers Pasquale and Peter Parillo and his sister Rose Basilicato. He leaves behind his wife Evelyn Parillo and his son Anthony Parillo Jr and his wife, Mary. He is survived by his sister Diane Striby in Clinton, CT. as well as his grandchildren, Anthony Atwood of Ivoryton, CT, Amber Kenny of Wethersfield, CT, Christopher McGlew of Dover, NH, Jessica Parillo of Palm Harbor FL, and Melissa Ayers of Middleburg, FL. Also survived by ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 20th at 11:00 AM at Crossroad Community Church 20864 State Forest Rd. Georgetown DE. 19947 Visitation is from 10:30 AM to 11 AM. Service will be officiated by Pastor Rick Betts.
