Anne S. Yost's Obituary
Anne Slotter Yost, of Lewes, died Thursday, December 28th, in Beebe Medical Center surrounded by loving family. She was 87.
Anne was born in Bedminster, PA, on April 11, 1919, to the late Jacob L. and Anna C. Slotter. She graduated from Phoenixville (PA) High School in 1937 and married Robert L. Yost, a classmate, in 1939. In 1947 they moved to Lewes, where Anne worked with generations of children in Lewes Kindergarten. She graced each class with her love of music, love of life and the fundamentals of learning. Anne was a very active member of the Lewes Presbyterian Church and its Kelly Class for over half a century.
In 1998, she was predeceased by her husband Bob, who worked for over three decades as the Port Engineer for the Delaware River Pilots' Association. Anne is survived by a daughter, Patricia Macintire, and her husband George, of Lewes; a son, Robert David Yost, and his wife Jean, of Ardmore, PA; six grandchildren: Cordelia (Macintire) Winton and her husband Graham, of New York, NY, Meredith (Macintire) Palmer and her husband Sean, of Lewes, Jennifer (Macintire) Zerby and her husband, Jeffrey, of Lewes, Jeanie (Yost) Mason and her husband Matthew, of Mooresville, NC, Anne Yost and her fiancé, Morgan Carroll, of New York, NY, and Lauren Yost of Ardmore, PA; four great grandbabies: Hannah and Ashton Palmer, Vaughn Winton and David Thomas Mason; a brother, Jacob L. Slotter, Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Pottsbown, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration service will held on Sunday, December 31, at 2 PM at Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes. Interment will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to "Living Stones II", a sanctuary restoration fund of the Lewes Presbyterian Church at the above address.
