Anne Marie Pratzner's Obituary
Anne Marie Pratzner, age 90 of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at her home. She was born on April 2, 1931 in Palmerton, PA, daughter of the late Bernard and Anna (Fisher) Higgins.
Mrs. Pratzner built a career as a registered nurse, retiring from St. Joseph Hospital in Reading, PA, after 40 dedicated years. She was a faithful and active member of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Lewes. Mrs. Pratzner enjoyed staying engaged and participated in many clubs, including the Lewes Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, the Elks, the Sweet Adelines, the Mason-Dixon Metal Detector Club, and the Senior Ladies Bowling League. Above all, she cherished time spent with those she held most dear. Mrs. Pratzner was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pratzner was preceded in death by her sister, Bernadine Yorke of Colorado Springs, CO; and her brother, Robert Higgins of Reading, PA. She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Stephen Louis Pratzner of Lewes, DE; her children: Kathleen Adams of Reading, PA; Karen Pratzner-McDuffie of Manassas, VA; Susan G. Pratzner of Lewes, DE; and Stephen G. Pratzner of Mertztown, PA; her 5 grandchildren; and her 3 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE. Mrs. Pratzner will be interred at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton, DE.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing must be observed and masks must be worn by everyone participating in any aspect of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Pratzner's memory to the St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958, or your local SPCA.
