ANNE T. McDEVITT-KALINOWSKY
Pro Life Activist
Born and raised in Chester, PA, Mrs. McDevitt-Kalinowsky passed away on June 8, 2010 at Christiana Hospital, Christiana, DE. She was the daughter of the late Catherine (Shields) and Joseph Malley. A brother, Joseph A. Malley, of Chester, PA, also predeceased her.
She is survived by her husband Henry “Hank” Kalinowsky and was married 60 years to her husband, John F. “Jack” McDevitt. Also surviving are her four children: Jay McDevitt and wife, Sylvia of Catlett Virginia; Kathy Schlegel and husband Ed of Millersville PA; Dan McDevitt and wife, Barbara of Avondale, PA; and Kevin McDevitt and wife, Karen of Petersburg, Virginia. Mrs. McDevitt-Kalinowsky adored her 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and proudly encouraged them to appreciate their Irish heritage.
Mrs. McDevitt-Kalinowsky was a member of St. Edmond's Catholic Church in Rehoboth Beach since 1984, and was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector as well as a Minister to the sick at local nursing homes and Beebe Medical Center for over 20 years. She was an associate member of the 106th Infantry Division of the Battle of the Bulge Veterans of WW II.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 15, 11:00 AM at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach. Friends may call at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
