Anne K. Farley's Obituary
Anne Kenney Farley, age 74 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away suddenly in her sleep on Sunday September 4, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom just short of one week. Anne was born in Wilmington, DE on July 27, 1937, daughter of the late Daniel and Julia Kenney.
Anne retired from Delaware Orthopedics’ in Wilmington, DE. Previously she spent her years as an integral part of the Arthroscopy Journal as editing manager alongside pioneer Dr. Ward Casscells.
Anne was most famous for the love she put into countless delicious meals enjoyed by all. She was a lead singer for the Rhythm Doctors; an avid crafter; bowler; bridge player; and doting mother and grandmother. Anne enjoyed traveling, especially spending her summers in Florida and Aruba.
Surviving are her three sons: Thomas J. Farley and wife Patricia and their sons Benjamin and Samuel of Newark, DE; Terry Farley of New York City, New York, and Timothy Farley and his wife Christine and their children Timmer, Kayla and Jillian of Hockessin, DE; daughter Nancy Brennan and children Kevin and Kate of Charlotte, NC; sister Mary White of Newark, DE.
She was also preceded in death by brothers: Daniel, John, James and Joseph and sisters Elizabeth and Catherine “Cas.”
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated jointly for Anne and her husband Thomas on Monday September 12, 2011 at 11 AM at St. Edmonds Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE where friends may call one hour prior to Mass at the church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 901 New Road, Wilmington, DE where friends may call beginning at 9:30 AM at the church. Entombment will follow the Mass at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
