Anne Diemer's Obituary
Anne Diemer, age 100, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Renaissance Healthcare, Millsboro, DE. She was born on September 14, 1909 in New York, NY, daughter of the late John and Julia (Kushnirik) Hass. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bernard W. Diemer, her brother George, and her sister Elizabeth.
At age 32, Anne's husband died suddenly and Anne was forced into the workplace. She was hired by the Clairol Co., subsequently bought out by Bristol-Meyers, Squibb, in the Connecticut business office. She retired 33 years later as an Accounting Manager. Following her retirement, she took a position in a Manhattan real estate office retiring for the second time at the age of 80 after working for another 14 years.
Mrs. Diemer is survived by her daughter, June R. Schwobel and her husband George of Lewes, DE; two grandsons George B. Schwobel and wife Lucy of Lewes and Robert M. Schwobel and wife Lisa of Central Islip, NY; one great-grandson Eric W. Schwobel of NY; three nieces: Jeanne Sichler of VT, Joyce Mirabal and husband George of FL and Nancy Hass of NY; two nephews, George Hass and wife Marlene of NY and Robert Diemer and wife Beverly of FL.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 11, at 11:00 A.M. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 7 - 9 PM. Interment will be at Bethel Methodist Cemetery following the funeral service.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3072 Savannah East Drive, Lewes, DE 19958.
