Anna May Pietrzykoski's Obituary
Anna Pietrzykoski, 90, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully in Hospice Care at ExcelCare at Lewes. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Mary (Tibus) Tompko, her sister Rosemary and a grandson, Matthew.
Anna leaves behind her husband, Walter Pietrzykoski, daughters LeeAnn Augustine and Ellen Shea; sons Mark and Daniel; LeeAnn’s husband, Chuck; and Daniel’s wife, Lynda. The loves of her life were her grandchildren, Douglas and Kathryn Shea and Grant and Jordan Pietrzykoski..
Anna and her family moved to Hatfield, PA, in September 1964. When her children reached junior high and high school, she worked part-time as a bookkeeper at Leslie Edelman Sporting Goods in Montgomeryville, PA. Later, she found employment with the North Penn School District as the attendance secretary at Pennbrook Middle School, where she made many friends who remained a cherished part of her life.
She was active in community organizations such as the Hatfield Woman’s Civic Club, where she organized their annual Vacation Auction for many years. During that time, she coordinated the event with members of the AAUW of Lansdale.
Anna loved to stay active at the YMCA in Lansdale, participating in a variety of exercise classes while making many friends. Her Roman Catholic faith was an invaluable part of her life, including involvement in the RCIA/OCIA program at St. Stanislaus Parish. Praying the Rosary and reading daily reflections in her Magnificat gave her great peace.
Several years ago, she and Walter moved to Lewes DE to be close to their daughters where they eventually moved into the Assisted Living Community at the Lodge at Historic Lewes. Anna blossomed at The Lodge, taking part in fashion shows, bingo games, exercise class and movie outings while making friends with everyone she met. She was so loved, they voted her Little Miss Sunshine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, Delaware on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11:00AM with viewing beginning at 10:00AM.
