Anna S. Nitroy's Obituary
Anna S. Nitroy, age 83, of Lewes, DE passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Country Rest Home, in Greenwood, DE. She was born Sunday, January 15, 1933 in Columbia, PA, daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Steckler) Salzman.
Mrs. Nitroy married the love of her life, Joseph A. Nitroy, Jr. on January 26, 1952 in Columbia, PA and they shared 63 wonderful years together. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at the age of 45 and worked as an executive secretary for many years. Mrs. Nitroy was passionate about raising seeing eye dogs and in her spare time she and her husband mentored elementary school students.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nitroy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Nitroy in 2015, and three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Ann Marie Dinkel and her husband Douglas of Lewes, DE; two sons, J. Michael Nitroy and his wife Susan of Barto, PA; Kenneth R. Nitroy and his wife Lisa also of Barto, PA; four grandsons, Kenneth R. Nitroy, Jr. of Bethlehem, PA; Colin Nitroy; Michael S. Nitroy and Andrew S. Nitroy all of State College, PA; one granddaughter, Lauren N. Nitroy of Charlotte, VT and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE. A Viewing will be held prior to the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Nitroy's name to the Lewes Fire Department, PO Box 225, Lewes, DE 19958 or to St. Jude the Apostle Church at the address above.
