Anita J. Woods' Obituary
Anita J. Woods , age 87, of Bethany Beach, DE, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Rock Island, IL , on Wednesday, September 02, 1925, daughter of the late Martin and Evelyn (Bluer) Case. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John P. "Jack" Woods on March 9, 2010.
Mrs. Woods was a full time resident for 24 years, coming from Rockville, MD. She received her Bachelor's Degree at Butler University, IL in Social Work and was a stay at home mother, raising her four children in TX, CO and MD. She later went back to Antioch University in Columbia, MD for her Master's Degree. She later worked for Randolph Hills Nursing Home in Wheaton, MD, retiring as the Director of Patient Relations.
Mrs Woods loved to travel to Paris, France with her husband, was an avid gardener; she loved plants. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by two sons, Steven P. Woods of Owings Mill, MD and
Mark T. Woods and his wife Pamela of Monrovia, MD, two daughters, Pamela J. Altemus and her husband Charles of N. Potomac, MD and Melissa J. Brois and her husband James of Mt. Airy, MD, eight grandchildren, John, Mike, Scott, Mark, Dan, Ashley, Katie and Jackie and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins - Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 12:30 PM
Interment will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park, 28787 Lockerman Road, Milton, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Partiots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
