Angela Lachmann's Obituary
Angela Lachmann, age 88 of Lewes passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015. She was born August 22, 1927, in Gioia del Colle, Italy, daughter of the late Antonio and Filomena (Girardi) Angelillo.
While in Germany she met and married the love of her life, Jan Lachmann. They immigrated to the United States July 2, 1956. A short stay in New York and then on to Lewes, DE where they would finally settle to work hard and raise their family. Throughout her journey she was blessed to have met many people that have remained as life-long friends. She was a compassionate caregiver to everyone in need. Her home was always open to everyone. No one ever left without having good conversation, laughter and especially her home cooked meals.
She touched everyone. She had the strength no one would know that such a little person could possess.
She would always be introduced by her grandchildren as “Mom-Mom”. An endearment that was very special to her.
She enjoyed making and giving away her plastic canvas projects. She loved Christmas and her tree(s) were adorned with her handiwork. She glowed when everyone was in awe when they saw her display. She loved working in her flower garden. She rescued many a plant that were marked for compost, brought them home and with loving care and a good “talking to” they would thrive and provide her with joy as anyone could see when they came to her home.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jan Lachmann, July 19, 1982, a son, Marion Lachmann 1951, two sisters, Maria DeLucce and Giuseppina Belvisi, a son-n-law, Tom Reising and brother-n-law, Josef Lachmann. She is survived by two sons, Nino Angelillo and his wife, Franca of Torino Italy and Enrico Lachmann and his wife, Mary of Lewes DE. Five daughters, Marisa Reising of Evansville IN, Sofia Williams of Lewes DE, Maria Damen and her husband, Gene of Laurel, DE, Anna McIlreavy and her husband, Jim of Lewes DE and Janet Kibler and her husband Mike of Middletown DE.
Two brothers, Domenico Angelillo and his wife, Maria of Turin Italy and Natale Angelillo and his wife, Gabriella of Pisa Italy. Sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind Hella Lachmann, her sister-n-law and nephews and nieces all of Lewes DE.
