Andrew Stafford Willoughby, age 94 of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. He was born on January 24, 1925 in Washington, DC, son of the late Malcom E. and Mary (Martin) Willoughby.
Mr. Willoughby proudly served in the US Navy. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from American University in Washington, DC. Mr. Willoughby worked as a Circulation Manager for various newspapers and magazines. Mr. Willoughby enjoyed riding his bike and viewing television, especially watching sports. He was an Elks member and adored his grand-dogs and cats.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Willoughby was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Theresa C. Willoughby in 2018; two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his son, Christopher Willoughby (Chrissie) of Sykesville, MD; his daughters: Sharon Chrobak (Jack) of Millsboro, DE, Regina Willoughby of Millsboro, DE, and Meg Sherman of Lewes, DE; his grandchildren: Kristen Chrobak of Milton, DE, Timothy Chrobak of Sykesville, MD, Patrick Chrobak (Megan) of Elkridge, MD, Paige Delenick (Joe) of Sykesville, MD, TJ Willoughby (Stacey) of Baltimore, MD, Reanna Sherman of Milton, DE, and Brendan Sherman of Lewes, DE; his great-grandchildren: Bailey, Daphne, Emily, and Price; and his sister, Mary Catherine Robinson of Bethesda, MD.
The family of Mr. Willoughby would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff at Beebe Healthcare and the Delaware Hospice Center.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mary Mother of Peace Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Willoughby’s memory to the Brandywine SPCA, 22918 Dupont Boulevard, Georgetown, DE 19947.
