Andrew Permar's Obituary
Andrew Permar, age 82, of Ocean View, DE, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011, at Harbor Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes, DE. Born in Wilmington, DE, on June 21, 1929, he was the son of the late Andrew and Frances (Szymanski) Permar. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Permar in 2003.
Mr. Permar worked for Delmarva Power for 40 years, was a Marine Corps Veteran and a member of VFW. He was a drummer for the Regent's, a local band that played at weddings and recorded "The Browntown."
He is survived by three daughters: Susan Merkel (Douglas) of Wilmington, DE, Andrea Shifflett (Mike) of Newark, DE and Karen Pierce (Ronald) of Wilmington; five grandchildren: Stephen Merkel (Shannon), Katherine Chimenti (Marchello), Gregory Permar (Jennifer), Matthew Pierce and Jennifer Pierce; one great-grandson, Evan Merkel; brother, Richard Permar (Bernice); brother-in-law, John Wisniewski, Jr. (Kathy); and six nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Christopher Hanley on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10 AM, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro, DE. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Ocean View, DE.
