Andrew Buchanan's Obituary
Andrew H. Buchanan III, age 71, of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 03, 2013, at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, April 21, 1942 in Wilmington, DE, son of the late Andrew Jr. and Elizabeth (West) Buchanan.
Mr. Buchanan worked a lifelong career for Pep Boys Incorporated where he managed numerous locations throughout Southern, PA and Northern, DE. In 2004 after 37 and ½ years he would finally retire and be able to spend more time doing some of his favorite things. This included fishing, camping, telling his many stories, and cracking jokes; all with an ice cold Natural Light in his hand. Most of all, Mr. Buchanan loved the time spent with his family; a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and dear friend, Mr. Buchanan’s laughter and love that always filled the room will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Buchanan was preceded in death by his brother, William W. Buchanan this past April. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Barbara (Savidge) Buchanan; his three sons: Andrew H. Buchanan IV and his wife Dawn of Wilmington, DE, Mark Buchanan of Lewes, DE, and Daniel Buchanan and his wife Kelli of Lincoln, DE; one daughter, Brenda Buchanan and her husband Robert Rankins of Wilmington, DE; one brother, David Buchanan and his wife Carol of Nottingham, PA; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Buchanan of Lewes, DE; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
A Moose Ritual Service immediately followed by Christian Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11:00AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00AM. Burial will immediately follow services at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to The Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #646, 28971 Lewes, Georgetown Hwy, Lewes, DE 19958.
