Amelia D. Sprague's Obituary
Amelia D. Sprague, "Mimi", age 96 of Lewes, DE, formerly of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Barneget, NJ, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Country Rest Home in Greenwood, DE. She was born on May 19, 1922 in South River, NJ, daughter of the late Earl and Ida M. (Newman) Danley.
Mrs. Sprague worked for many years as a retail manager. She enjoyed bowling, water skiing, and card games. Her greatest joy, however, was time spent with her cherished family. Mrs. Sprague was a loving and devoted mother, God-mother, aunt, and dear friend. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sprague was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chester S. Sprague, Sr.; and her son, Earl M. Sprague. She is survived by her son, Chester S. Sprague, Jr. and his wife Susan of Rehoboth Beach, DE; her God-daughter, Lori Sefcik of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews; and her dear, life-long friend of 90 years, Dorothea Schlegel.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at 11:00 AM, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 1:00 PM, at Cedarwood Cemetery, 2000 Florence Avenue, Hazlet, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Sprague's memory to Epworth United Methodist Church Music Ministry: 19285 Holland Glade Road; Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
