Allyn A. Wagamon's Obituary

Allyn Arnold Wagamon of Lewes, Delaware, passed away on July 16, 2018. Allyn was born in Chicago, IL on November 20, 1944.
Allyn graduated from Niles Township High School in Niles, IL. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin in Madison WI, in 1966, and a Master's Degree in Education from the National College of Education in Evanston, IL in 1976.
Allyn was married to William B. Wagamon, III on June 28, 1969. The couple celebrated their forty-ninth wedding anniversary in June 2018. Allyn worked as an educator for more than thirty five years, teaching in elementary and middle schools in the U.S. and Canada. Her last teaching assignment was at The Independence School in Newark, DE, where she was designated a Teacher Emeritus after retiring with twenty two years of service.
After retirement, Allyn received her real estate license, working with her husband, Bill, at Jack Lingo, Inc. in Lewes, DE. A firm believer in continuing her education, she received her Associate Broker's License in 2010 and continued to practice real estate until recently.
Allyn enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was actively involved in the Lewes community as a volunteer for the Beebe Medical Foundation, which recognized her as the volunteer of the year with the Marvel Award in 2010. She served on the Foundation’s Board of Ambassadors for the last several years until her passing.
Allyn is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughters: Cynthia Foxx (David) and Whitney Glaccum (John Amory); her grandchildren: Tyler, Lindsay, Claire, Hannah, and Alexandra; her brother Earl Arnold; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, William S. Arnold and her mother Ruth Arnold, both of Chicago, IL.
Friends may visit from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday July 19, 2018 at the Parsell Funeral Home & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958.
Funeral Services and Interment will be held privately.
