Alfred Joseph Mjaanes' Obituary
Alfred Joseph Mjaanes, age 85 of Bridgeville, DE, formerly of Cedarhurst, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. He was born on December 21, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Otto and Anita (Stenson) Mjaanes.
Mr. Mjaanes proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was also a member of the Marine Corp League (Devil Dogs) in Seaford. He loved music, playing his banjo and cooking. He enjoyed attending and was a parishioner of the First Baptist Church in Seaford, DE.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Holly Hilda (Walker) Mjaanes; his three nieces: Alice Middleton, Janice Coyle, and Mary Broaderick; and his nephews: Jerome Walker, and Richard Walker.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE. Interment will be private.
Social distancing protocols must be observed and masks must be worn by everyone participating in any aspect of the service.
