Alfred Gene Massaroni's Obituary
Alfred “Fred” Massaroni, age 78, of Milton, DE, was reunited with loved ones on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. He was born on December 30, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Delio and Antonia (Rotondi) Massaroni.
Alfred was known as “Fred” or “Freddy” and was married to his lifelong love, Theresa “Terry” (Brennan) Massaroni for fifty-six years. Their love story goes on to raising two daughters. Deana Massaroni Maier and Marla Massaroni Gallagher (Francis). He was Pop Pop to Franny Gallagher, Jessica Gallagher, Mathew Maier and Jamie Maier and Great Pop Pop to Autumn Morris and Helena Gallagher.
Fred was a veteran of the United States Army, a proud American and devoted father and grandfather. To those that were fortunate enough to have known him, knew he was the epitome of a loving family man. The leader of the tribe – the man that we all looked to for a laugh, advice, support, or even his homemade limoncello. He laughed when the family joked about him being Superman, but that’s what he was to the entire family. He was the hero for far too many reasons to list. He seemed to make everything better with a simple, few minute conversation with him – every time, without fail. He was quick to remind you of your worth without realizing his worth to the person he was speaking to. He was a gift. It was known when he was alive. It is more evident now that he is gone. We love and miss you.
